BS 476-6 Fire Propagation Index Tester Product Introduction:

The BS 476-7 test method is a standard method for evaluating the flame spread characteristics of a material surface. It is mainly used to determine the fire resistance of wall cladding and ceiling materials. The test results are presented in the form of flame spread distance and index. During the test, the specimen is exposed to a combination of radiant heat source and open flame. The heat flux density of the radiant panel is set to 30 kW/m². Three minutes after the start of the test, the intensity of the auxiliary gas flame is adjusted to 1000 BTU/min. At 8 minutes into the test, the gas output is reduced to 800 BTU/min, and then maintained at a stable output until the test is completed. The entire test lasts for 15 minutes. The test evaluates the fire resistance of the material by quantifying the expansion rate of the flame front.
