Standard:
1. ISO 9185:2007
This is the core standard for evaluating the performance of
protective clothing materials against molten metal splashes. It
defines the test methods, including pouring of molten metal,
specimen preparation, and evaluation of PVC film damage. This
standard is applicable to the testing of personal protective
equipment (PPE) such as welding suits and gloves.
2. EN 373
This European standard has been replaced by ISO 9185, but is still
used as a historical reference. It involves the evaluation of the
protective performance of materials against molten aluminum and
molten iron.
3. EN 407:2004
The heat resistance standard for protective gloves, including
molten metal splash tests (such as aluminum and molten iron),
requires the material to maintain integrity at a specific metal
amount and temperature.
4. ISO 11612:2015
The international standard for protective clothing against high
temperatures and flames, covers molten metal splash tests (such as
copper and aluminum), and requires that the material has no
penetration or obvious damage after splashing.
5. EN ISO 11611:2015
Standard for protective clothing for welding and related processes,
requiring materials to pass the molten metal splash test (such as
molten steel, molten aluminum) to ensure protection in the welding
environment.
6. EN 348:1992
Specifies the test method for protective clothing against small
splashes of molten metal, and evaluates the penetration resistance
of materials by simulating the impact of metal droplets.
