    UL162 Low-Expansion Foam Expansion Drainage Time Tester:


    This device is manufactured according to the requirements of GB/T15308 standard and is a foam generation system used in small-scale tests for foam performance quality control. It meets the requirements of GB/T15308 foam extinguishing agents, Appendix A.2 foam performance test standard clauses, GB 27897-2011 expansion ratio and 25% liquid separation time.

    UL162 Low-Expansion Foam Expansion Drainage Time Tester Product Feature:


    1. Composition: Consists of a low-expansion foam generation system, a standard foam gun, a low-expansion foam collector, and a low-expansion foam separation analyzer.

    2. Low-expansion foam generation system: Composed of an air inlet pipe, a pressure-resistant storage tank, a pressure gauge, a foam liquid delivery pipe, and an adjustable support;

    3. Standard foam gun: When calibrated with water, at a pressure of (0.63±0.03) MPa, the water flow rate is (11.4±0.4) L/min;

    4. Low-expansion foam collector: See Figure 5, made of stainless steel;

    5. Liquid analyzer: See Figure 6, made of brass; used to calibrate the volume of the foam receiving tank to 1 mL with water;

    6. Other accessories:

    6.1 Air compressor: 0.8 MPa, flow rate 30 L/min;

    UL162 Low-Expansion Foam Expansion Drainage Time Tester Test Procedure:


    a) Prepare a foam solution using fresh water according to the required concentration (if the foam solution is suitable for seawater, prepare it using seawater conforming to standard 5.10.3). Control the temperature of the foam solution to ensure the produced foam temperature is within the range of (15-20)℃.

    b) Start the air compressor and adjust the inlet pressure of the foam gun to (0.7±0.03) MPa. Simultaneously, wet the inner wall of the foam receiving tank of the eluent analyzer, wipe it clean, and weigh it (m1).

    c) After spraying for (5-10) seconds until stabilization is achieved, collect the foam using the eluent analyzer. Simultaneously, start the stopwatch, scrape off any overflowing foam from the eluent analyzer, weigh it (m2), and calculate the mass of 25% eluent according to formula (A.1) ( )

    —Mass of the eluent analyzer, in grams (g);

    —Mass of the eluent analyzer when filled with foam, in grams (g);

    —Mass of 25% eluent, in grams (g). d) Remove the receiving container from the precipitation analyzer and place it on the balance. Simultaneously, place the foam receiving container on the support, ensuring the precipitate is free of foam. Stop the stopwatch when the precipitated liquid reaches 25% of its volume, and record the precipitation time.

    e) Calculate the foaming ratio according to formula (A.2):
