The ASTM E162 Radiant Panel Flame Spread Tester is a precision
testing device specifically designed to assess the flammability of
material surfaces. It primarily follows ASTM E162, "Standard Test
Method for Flammability of Surfaces of Materials Using Radiant Heat
Sources," and ASTM D3675, "Standard Test Method for Flammability of
Surfaces of Flexible Porous Materials Using Radiant Heat Sources."
This instrument simulates a radiant heat source environment to
accurately measure the flame spread rate and heat release
characteristics of materials under heated conditions, calculating
the flame spread index (Is). It is widely used for testing the
flame retardant properties of materials in railway vehicles, buses,
manufactured buildings, recreational vehicles, as well as flexible
foam plastics, textile coverings, and plastic composite panels. It
is an essential testing tool for ensuring the fire safety of
materials in the transportation, construction, and manufacturing
sectors.

Parameter:
1. Porous ceramic radiant gas panel, 12*18in (305*457mm), ignited
with a silicon carbide igniter;
2. Stainless steel sample holder with observation points every 3
inches for observing flame front spread;
3. Stainless steel sample support;
4. Stainless steel ignition device;
5. Pyrometer for measuring the surface temperature of the radiant
panel, including support;
6. Gas flow meter and gas control valve to control the gas mixing
supplied to the radiant panel;
7. Mass flow controller for methane flow regulation and
calibration;
8. Stainless steel exhaust pipe with a removable panel for easy
thermocouple cleaning;
9. Exhaust pipe equipped with 8 thermocouples according to
standards;
10. Calibrated burner with methane flow meter;
11. Gas safety control and circuit cut-off device;
12. Blower provides stable air flow, venturi-mixed gas and air
enter the combustion chamber;
13. Analog input module for thermocouple voltage signal
acquisition;
